Sunday 28th June – Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe – sunny periods and hot.

Foil – 19.58 knot max, 17.77 knot ave., 13.19 knot hour, 16.99 knot mile, 55.60 km., 14.76 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Tushingham Bolt 5.75.

Another good forecast with more hot sunshine with a 20 knot breeze starting off a fraction off then turning SW, being a Sunday I headed down to Squiz Lane at The Manor end of Felixstowe hoping to get a parking spot. I arrived at eight and was lucky to park near the flood gate, the foil board was quickly set-up on the beach and the wind was a tad off but looked breezy so took a chance once again with my 5.75 which proved for the most part ideal, it was a little up and down at times, a 5m would have been OK at times! Launching around 8.30 at about half tide and the sea was still fairly smooth and I had a good hour and a half all by myself doing long runs out to sea! The sea was picking it as was the wind so I decided to head in for a snack just as several others launched from just down the beach 5 wingers, a fin sailor and another windsurf foiler. Snack finished the wind and sea seemed to have calmed down and it was only 10.30 so I headed out again to do several more cracking runs ending up sailing 34 miles again for the second time this week and was home to have lunch with Mag relaxing in our quiet little garden where it was still pretty hot! June has been a great month for windsurfing by far the best of the year so far!
